Kids' classes have up to 12 students; teen and adult classes up to 16. Times change by session.
After-school lane
Weekday afternoons run in four steps, so a parent can collect a child from work and not from a schedule.

Children come in between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., put their shoes on the rack and sign in with an instructor.

A bench by the door holds bags, water bottles and homework until class begins.

A 45-minute class by age and belt, with up to 12 students on the mat.

A parent or an adult on the pickup list collects each child at the door. Children wait until that adult arrives.
The belt path
Each color brings a few new skills, and stripes on the belt mark the steps inside it. A student tests when the instructor sees them.

On the mat
What every instructor has completed and how a kids' class runs.
Class size
Up to 12 children
Ages 4 to adult
Each child is signed in at the door and released only to a parent or an adult on the pickup list, with ID the first time.
No shoes on the mat, no jewelry, hair tied back, and gear checked before any partner work.
Partner work starts with pads and light contact, and stops when either student says stop.
Water breaks between drills, and a place to sit and watch for a moment when a student needs one.
